Bio
Brian Guerra was born and raised in McAllen, Texas, where he attended McAllen Memorial High School. After graduation, Brian attended the University of Texas at Austin. While pursuing a degree in Economics, Brian participated in community organizations such as HEROE- Helping Everyone Reach Opportunities and Education-and tutored underprivileged high school students. During his last year of school, Brian participated in Texas Aids Ride II- a 4 day, 350 mile bike ride from Houston to Dallas, raising money for Texas aids services and awareness programs.
In 2001, Brian attended Texas Tech School of Law in Lubbock, Texas. Brian completed his first two years of law school at Texas Tech and his last year at the University of Texas School of Law. During his last year, Brian clerked for Kuhn, Doyle, and Kuhn, PC, in Austin, Texas, where he focused on criminal law. As a law clerk, Brian authored an appellate brief in the Austin Court of Appeals that reversed a client's felony drug conviction. The opinion is cited at 148 SW3d 702.
After law school, Brian moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where he worked for the Law Offices of Mimi Coffey, a criminal defense DWI attorney. As an associate, Brian handled criminal court appearances, negotiated plea agreements, and handled trial preparation. In January 2007, Brian opened his own law practice in Fort Worth, and handled criminal cases throughout Tarrant and Parker counties. In January 2008, Brian moved his practice to Austin, Texas and added traffic cases to his practice.
At this time, Brian handles criminal defense and traffic cases throughout Travis, Williamson, and Hays counties (and other counties, on a case by case basis). When not working, Brian enjoys traveling and is in the process of obtaining his private pilot's license.
